The terran race is known as being the best “turtles” meaning the best at defending their base. To become a good terran player you need to learn how to be defensive with them. Otherwise you will get rushed by an early 4 gate build or get rushed by zerg banelings.

You must learn to take advantage of bunkers, siege tanks, and planetary fortresses. Siege tanks and bunkers should be instrumental especially if you decide to expand early to get ahead with your economy.

If you are facing a zerg player you must always wall off your base to avoid a zergling rush. If you don’t wall off then they can start making a spawning pool and then send early zerglings into your base to harass your workers. Then the game is pretty much over.
